ZDA worked with Kennedy Heights Community Center (KHCC) to develop a nature playground to supplement their existing traditional playground. A portion of the project was built through donations of time and material. ZDA was involved from the planning stages through construction.

Landscape features include a meandering path that links an entry plaza, climbing hill and dry stream for exploration, performance stage for creative expression, and raised planting beds to plant, nurture, and harvest fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers.

KHCC was awarded a Goodman Center grant for a landscape design that helped fight childhood obesity and the stresses of living in a modern world.

“ZDA shepherded a community dream into a fantastic neighborhood playground. They worked with community members, kids and staff to design a unique playspace that met our needs and brings great joy to the children and families that use it everyday.”
