ZDA has worked with the Meriter CAP facility since 2008 to develop healing outdoor spaces and therapeutic gardens.  In the first phase of development, ZDA developed a property-wide conceptual master plan incorporating results from ZDA lead surveys, interviews and a series of design charrettes involving CAP staff, Meriter planning staff, and Meriter Foundation representatives.  The first phase of construction included café style seating, the gazebo garden, and a one on one seating area to welcome patients and staff at the front door and create outdoor areas for relaxation and therapy.

Continuing in 2014, ZDA designed the Adolescent Play Area and Therapeutic garden to support therapies through large and small group areas, improved lawn areas for free play, and a walking path and gardens to engage the senses and soothe the spirit.  In the year since its installation the garden has received praise for its beauty, but more importantly has become an important therapy tool for the CAP staff.
