Updated Management Plan Unveiled for
Troy Gardens

Designed and developed by ZDA, the Management Plan guides Community GroundWorks staff and volunteers in maintaining the open spaces at Troy Gardens, where over 7 acres of restored natural areas and trails provide access to nature and gardening. With partial funding from the State of WI DNR Forestry Program, and collaboration with Community GroundWorks in both 2009 and 2010, ZDA evaluated and updated the 2005 plan. The new three-part plan contains location maps, planting plans and narratives describing each natural area, detailed annual maintenance schedules, and record-keeping system templates for documenting maintenance activities. This plan is a prototype for an innovative approach to land management for private, semi-private, and public landscapes.
